Meet Shelby, our sporty Boxer mix with the heart of a champion and the appetite of a Great Dane! This loyal girl is the ultimate adventure buddy — always ready for a hike, a jog, or a spirited round of fetch (which she takes very seriously). Despite her boundless energy, Shelby knows how to chill like a pro, snuggled up on the couch with her kitty pals. She’s gentle, eager to please, and as non-confrontational as they come — a true sweetheart in sneakers. Slim, strong, and fast as the wind, Shelby’s a natural athlete who proves that muscles and manners can go paw in paw.
Rehabilitated, Trained
Shelby is the ultimate outdoor companion! Loyal, fun, and always ready to explore, she walks beautifully on leash and comes when called. With her easygoing nature and few flaws, she’s the perfect friend for someone seeking a loving, active partner to share life’s adventures.
Come meet Shelby at our sanctuary — take her for a walk or a little ride and see how your hearts connect. To make sure it’s the perfect match, you’re welcome to have her visit your home for a day or two. This helps both of you feel comfortable before making a decision. And if it doesn’t work out, that’s perfectly okay — we completely understand and will gladly welcome her back. Our adoption promise ensures every animal always has a safe place to return to. If life changes or you can no longer care for your pet, they’ll always have a home with us. And if you ever need boarding while you travel, we’re here for that too — so you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry friend is safe, loved, and feeling right at home.
Shelby entered a South Texas shelter as a puppy and grew up behind kennel bars. She played now and then, but real socialization never came. After 900 days she was on the euth list for space—yet she held on. Shelby is a miracle, proof that hope can outlast even the darkest odds.
Shelby’s journey from Edinburg, TX to our sanctuary in GA was a true team effort. A local rescuer pulled her from the shelter and fostered her until a 28-hour transport could bring her home. This is the essence of rescue—hope, love, and teamwork at every turn.
