Marley Pet Sanctuary

A safe heaven for pet in need

Holistic care at the Marley Pet Sanctuary

The Marley Pet Sanctuary, nestled in Canon, Georgia near Hartwell, is a small but loving haven for rescued animals in need. Since opening in 2025 we are awaiting approval as a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Our mission has been simple: rescue, heal, and give vulnerable dogs and cats a second chance at life. We focus on senior pets and the ones that nobody came for.

Marley Pet Sanctuary isn’t a shelter with a revolving door — it’s a forever home. Our animals aren’t waiting to be chosen. They’re already home.

For our cats, this is their final chapter, and we intend to make it a beautiful one. For our dogs, we occasionally open our hearts to the possibility of adoption — but only when we find a truly like-minded family who can offer more than we can. Not a change. A genuine step forward.

Every animal here is already loved. That will never change.

Marley's Happy Tails Park

At our sanctuary’s Happy Tails Park, half an acre of fenced-in fun awaits — perfect for zoomies, playtime, and pretending to follow commands. The dogs get their daily dose of sunshine and mischief.

Marley's Happy Kitties Loft

Attached to our home is the Marley Pet Sanctuary cat loft — 350 square feet of pure kitty paradise. The young ones race, climb, and rule the cat trees and ceiling bridges like they own the place. And honestly? They do.

For our senior cats, the chaos of play gives way to something quieter — two dedicated rooms inside the house where they can rest, breathe, and enjoy the peace they’ve always deserved.

Every cat here has exactly what they need. Kennel free room to be exactly who they are.

Turning Passion into Protection for Those Without a Voice

I’m Brie, the founder and dedicated caretaker behind Marley Pet Sanctuary. Animals have always been a central part of my life, growing up surrounded by them.

As an empty nester, I felt compelled to dedicate my time to easing their suffering. It may seem like a drop in the ocean, but every life saved, every dog thriving after shelter life, and every cat curling up happily on the couch gives me an incomparable sense of joy.

My philosophy is to keep the sanctuary small, so we can devote time to each animal—helping them become confident, well-rounded companions and, when the time is right, potential candidates for pet adoption.

I call this place a sanctuary because every animal here is safe—no one ever has to leave. We do offer adoptions to open space for other souls in need,  to people who share our values.

We applied for 501(c)(3) non-profit, and every donation goes straight to our animals—for food, natural remedies, vet care, spay/neuter surgeries, and equipment.

Home Environment

Kennel-Free Living for Calm, Happy Pets

Many of our pets come from stressful shelter environments—loud, crowded, and often without even a blanket for comfort. Here, we give them the opposite: a peaceful home where every animal can choose their favorite cozy spot. And they all do. Some dogs settle happily in the living room, a few love the bedroom, the kitties adore their Meow Loft, and others wander between the office and the couch. It’s quiet, calm, and deeply comforting after a full day outside.

We’re able to offer this level of care because we intentionally keep our sanctuary small. Limiting the number of rescued pets allows us to focus on their emotional healing, and it makes an incredible difference in their rehabilitation.

We don’t use kennels or crates, as many of our animals carry painful memories of them. And despite that freedom, we’ve never had issues with damage or aggression. In fact, it’s common to see a kitty curled up next to a dog on the couch, both completely at peace.

Freshly prepared natural meals

Nature’s Nutrition: The Key to Immunity and Vitality

Many of our animals arrived with issues caused by malnutrition or cheap, processed kibble. Several had severe skin problems and digestive troubles. We’ve learned that the key to a healthy pet is a fresh, unprocessed diet rich in omega-3s, antioxidants, and natural anti-inflammatory ingredients. This simple change clears up most common issues quickly while boosting the immune system and energy.

At Marley Pet Sanctuary, every dog and cat is fed a natural, whole-food diet. It costs about 35% more than high-quality kibble and requires much more work, but the results are remarkable. Ten-year-old “seniors” suddenly act like playful puppies again, and our vet bills are nearly zero because our animals stay healthy.

We use natural supplements for pest prevention. A strong immune system and natural prevention allow us to skip harsh, expensive chemical treatments.

Holistic medical care and prevention

Holistic Healing for Happier, Healthier Pets

Veterinary costs have risen by 160% in recent years, and we’ve noticed a growing trend toward overtreatment and a strong dependence on pharmaceutical solutions. Holistic remedies—gentle, effective, and often far safer—are rarely offered, even though they can make a tremendous difference. The long list of yearly recommended vaccines is not only costly but often unnecessary, and many pets experience side effects we simply don’t want for animals already on their path to healing.

At Marley Pet Sanctuary, we’ve created an extensive database of natural treatments that support health without causing harm. For example, instead of medicating a kitten for diarrhea, we add pumpkin purée and a spoon of colostrum to their food—a natural remedy that has worked every time. There are countless simple, affordable options that nurture the body and encourage true healing.

Of course, if an issue doesn’t improve, we consult a vet. Natural care comes first, but professional help is always part of our safety plan.

Nature walks, agility and training

Active Minds, Peaceful Hearts

Mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise, and our dogs thrive on it. Nature walks, agility fun, and gentle obedience training keep their minds sharp, their spirits balanced, and their days full of joy.

Dogs with enough mental engagement are far less likely to act out or become destructive, which is one of the reasons our animals never need kennels or crates. Even when left alone for a few hours, they simply relax on their favorite couch and wait calmly—no damage, no stress.

The same is true for our kitties. We encourage safe outdoor freedom, giving them several entry gates so they can come and go as they please. Their natural curiosity is fulfilled by exploring the grass, hiding in bushes, chasing insects, or rolling comfortably on the porch.

With these rich experiences, they return indoors content and relaxed. And every night, the whole kitty squad is safely tucked inside, happy and ready for rest.
